by Bill In SolidWorks 2010 you can export a part, assembly or drawing file as a .TIF, .JPG or .PSD and specifiy the DPI of the new image file.
In the ‘Save As‘ dialog box select the file format from the ‘Save As Type‘ list.
Select ‘Options‘ to adjust the image export DPI, paper size and a few other options relevant to exporting an image file.
The Screen Capture setting will export the file based on the current display resolution.
The Print Capture option will allow users to adjust the resolution, paper size and orientation. A preview of the image border will be shown in the SolidWorks environment based on the selected paper size.
If exporting a drawing file users can use the ‘Scale to Fit‘ option or specifiy a specific export scale.
