Many times users need to know the internal volume of a model or assembly. There are a few ways to get this information but using the Cavity feature in conjunction with a top-down, in-context modeling approach will allow you to design your model as it would be manufactured while making sure the volume updates correctly should the design change.

This tech tip is straight out of the SolidWorks Knowledge Database on the requirements for 2010 SolidWorks.

If your just loading SolidWorks most of these will load for you, but if the program is not working correctly then it might be worth working through this list one by one and uninstall and then reinstall.

In SolidWorks 2010 you can export a part, assembly or drawing file as a .TIF, .JPG or .PSD and specifiy the DPI of the new image file.

If you write equations, create design tables, use DriveWorksXpress or have any other reason to view your dimensions while in an assembly or part file then you’ll need to know where to find the setting after upgrading to SolidWorks 2010.
